Recommander — operated by Big Dumb Lizard LLC

Effective Date: April 11, 2026 Last Updated: April 11, 2026

The Short Version

When you use Recommander, we store your votes, settings, and any decklists you submit. When you sign in with Discord, we store your Discord username, email, and avatar so we can identify your account. We use all of this to make our recommendations better. We don’t sell your account info to anyone.

What We Collect

When you sign in with Discord, we receive your Discord user ID, display name, email address, and avatar. We never see your Discord password, your messages, your friend list, or what servers you’re in.

When you use Recommander, we store:

  • Decklists you submit for analysis or recommendations
  • Your votes on deck recommendations
  • Your preferences and settings (like staple filter settings)
  • Basic usage stats, like how many decks we’ve recommended to you

If you support us on Ko-fi, we may use your Ko-fi email to match your donation to your Recommander account and unlock any associated perks.

Automatically, our servers log standard stuff like your IP address and browser type. This is used for security and debugging, not tracking.

What We Do With It

  • Keep your account working and your settings saved
  • Analyze decklists you submit and give you recommendations
  • Use your votes and submitted decklists to make the recommendation engine smarter over time
  • Figure out which features people actually use so we can focus on what matters

What We Don’t Do

We don’t sell or share your account information — your Discord identity, email, or voting history — with anyone.

Aggregated, non-identifiable data like deck statistics and card popularity trends may be shared with third-party partners to support the service.

Cookies

We use exactly one cookie. It’s called recommander_auth and it keeps you logged in. It’s encrypted, your browser only sends it over HTTPS, and JavaScript on the page can’t read it. We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any of that stuff.

Third-Party Services

Recommander relies on a few external services to function:

  • Discord for login
  • Microsoft Azure for hosting
  • Neon for our database
  • Ko-fi for voluntary donations

Each of these has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them if you’re curious, but the short version is: Discord knows you logged into Recommander, Azure and Neon host your data, and Ko-fi processes donations.

Your Data, Your Call

You can:

  • Ask us what data we have on you
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete your account and everything associated with it

We’re building a self-service account deletion feature. Until it’s ready, contact us at the email below and we’ll handle it manually.

When you delete your account, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed. Anonymized, aggregated data (like vote counts that can no longer be tied to you) may stick around to keep the recommendation model healthy.

Kids

Recommander is not intended for anyone under 13. If we find out a user is under 13, we’ll delete their account.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If we make a big change, we’ll make it obvious.
